We suggest basic weekly textbook readings and Bible readings, but these are at your discretion. An optional certificate is offered for those on the Gold level who desire to do a little more work. The minimal course participation required is to listen/watch the weekly lessons.
Our materials and courses are only for those interested in maturing their walk with Jesus Christ.

The Star & Scepter: God’s Epic Plan For Salvation?
The study of God's plan for salvation as revealed in the Bible. Through this course, you will gain a deep understanding of the purpose and meaning of God's plan, and be equipped with the tools to confidently interpret and apply Biblical teachings.
MODULE 1
You will gain a clear understanding of the framework for the Epic Bible Story from Genesis to Revelation. Without this knowledge, it can be difficult to understand what is going on in the Bible and what God is doing. God's pattern for history centers everything on the work and ministry of Jesus Christ. Each following module will go deeper into one aspect of the Epic Bible Story.
MODULE 2
You will recognize the foundation of the Biblical world order and Christian Worldview which is based in the fact that God created all that is---and since He created, He is sovereign over all creation. Yet God gave mankind dominion over creation. You will understand how God planned for both daily fellowship with mankind in the Garden, and for an eternal existence for mankind with God. Yet God put a test in the garden, one stipulation about one tree (this is sometimes called the Adamic covenant).
MODULE 3
You will identify one of the Bible's most important lessons---how sin and evil entered the world and corrupted creation and both what God planned to do about it to redeem mankind and how God judged sinful men. The rebellion of men and angels will ultimately explain how the world got to be how it is today. Yet through the Noahic covenant, God continued His plan for mankind.
MODULE 4
You will come away with an understanding of why and how Abraham is the father of all the faithful through the Abrahamic covenant. You will come to see God's character when God makes Abraham into a great nation and delivers them from bondage--establishing with them the Sinai covenant. You will see how God planned for an Israelite king, David, and promised David an eternal dynastic covenant of kingship which was/is fulfilled in Jesus Christ--who will offer a "new covenant" with God to all people of faith.
MODULE 5
You will come to appreciate how Jesus Christ is the promised: Seed of Eve, Seed of Abraham, Seed of David, the ruling Son of Man, Son of God, and Prophet like Moses. You will see how Christ fulfilled all the Law and preached the Kingdom of God as well as how He claimed to be God and revealed His power over all creation, sin, and death. God's plan will all make sense when you then understand why Jesus came to die and then rose from the dead that He might be the first of many who gain eternal life and that He might shepherd His followers into Life everlasting.
MODULE 6
You will realize that, in Christ, you have been grafted into the people of faith--now called the Church, and that you need to join with other Christians in a local embassy of God's kingdom on earth (a local church). You will grasp how a local church works and what God expects of Christians in local church membership.
MODULE 7
You will better comprehend the current world situation. You will be encouraged that as the world continues to rebel agains God, God has a plan to judge the wicked and for Christ to return to comfort His people, redeem Jerusalem, and rule the nations for a thousand years. There will be a place for you in Christ's kingdom.
MODULE 8
You will begin to fathom the future which is yours, of the rich blessings that God will bring to Christians in the New Heaven and the New Earth. You will gain a glimpse of what eternal life will be like for all believers in the presence of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Decades ago our founding teachers were called into ministry by our Lord. We each pursued and attained Masters degrees in Divinity (MDiv) as well as Ph.D.'s in our fields of study (Old Testament/Biblical Archaeology, Ethics, Theology/Church History). We each served in both churches and seminaries, having over sixty years of combined seminary-level teaching experience. We are all published authors but we are focused on discipling Christians in the local church. We have each always looked to understand the big picture of what God is doing in the Bible. As we came together to study the narrative structure of the Bible (the Epic Bible Story), it came into our view. We could see how it helped both us and our students to understand what God is doing in Bible history and why--as well as how differing texts fit into the big picture. It also helped our students to retain the Bible accounts. So we began to teach it this way in our classes and at church in earnest. The content is nothing new--it is the Bible. However the structure of the Epic Bible Story is very helpful to make sense of the whole. We are confident that the Epic Bible Story, as taught in our course and book, will be an encouragement to you and bring some sense into how you fit into God's Epic Bible story. This will allow you to be better prepared as you serve Christ in your local church. We started Star & Scepter Discipleship in order to bring excellent Discipleship & Bible content courses to Christians in light of the Epic Bible Story structure. Just as Jesus returned on the afternoon of his resurrection to walk with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus and explain to them what the Scriptures said about Him, we wish to follow Christ's example and come alongside you and explain the Epic Bible story in light of your daily walk with Christ.
